Human approval, always
Payroll runs need an admin to finalise them. AI changes need a button press on a before-and-after card.
An audit trail for AI
Every assistant action is logged with who asked, which tool ran and the outcome, without copying personal values into the log.
Sensitive fields, locked
Sensitive employee fields are encrypted at rest. Revealing one through the assistant needs an admin, MFA and a stated reason.
Employees prove who they are
The WhatsApp agent only answers registered numbers of active employees, and only about their own records and their team’s requests.

What can employees do on WhatsApp?
Get any month's payslip as a PDF, check leave balances, apply for full or half-day leave, check in and out by sharing their location, see their attendance summary and upcoming holidays. Managers can approve or reject their team's leave. It understands English, Hindi and Hinglish.
Do employees need to install anything?
No. The WhatsApp agent recognises each employee by the mobile number on their JAM record. The JAM mobile app is optional and is coming to iOS and Android; teams can join the early access now.
Which statutory deductions does JAM handle?
JAM computes EPF, ESI, Professional Tax (24 states) and Labour Welfare Fund (16 states and UTs) in every payroll run and shows them on each payslip. TDS is entered per employee through payroll adjustments. JAM computes; filing and challans stay with your accountant.
Can the AI change payroll or records without approval?
No. JAM in ChatGPT drafts every change as a before-and-after card, and nothing is saved until an admin presses Confirm and apply. It cannot run payroll, delete employees or make bulk changes. Payroll runs are finalised by an admin in the web app.
Which AI assistants work with JAM?
JAM connects to ChatGPT today through an early-access connector for admins and HR. Support for more assistants is on the way. Employees use JAM's own agent on WhatsApp and in the app.
How do employees get their payslips?
Once a payroll run is approved, JAM generates password-protected PDFs (the password is the employee's PAN). Employees ask for them on WhatsApp or download them in the app, and HR can bulk-download every payslip.
Can we bring our existing data?
Yes. Add employees with their pay templates, and upload attendance for a whole month as a single Excel matrix that JAM validates before saving. Our team helps with the first import.
How long does it take to go live?
Most teams set up their company, policies and people within a week and run their first payroll the following month. Employees can start using WhatsApp as soon as they're added.
